Summary

Who I am

From the 2026-27 academic year I join the faculty of Universidad Europea de Valencia, teaching on the Mathematics, Physics and Data Science degrees. It's the stage where I bring my combined background in research, data science and software development into the university classroom, with a clear goal: giving students a solid analytical foundation and a practical approach to solving real problems in technological, scientific and business settings.

Before that step, I taught mathematics in Secondary and Bachillerato at an international school in Valencia, teaching Year 10 (PAI programme), Years 12 and 13 of the national Bachillerato, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Analysis and Approaches HL. I know the papers and the Internal Assessment criteria from the inside, not by hearsay.

Teaching runs alongside a background in artificial intelligence and data science: I've worked with convolutional neural networks, computer vision and signal analysis in both business and research settings, including at CSIC.

My priority is for the student to understand the logic behind each procedure, not to memorise formulas.

Research

Scientific work

Beyond the classroom, my research background lets me show students what the mathematics they study is actually for. These are the three main strands:

1. Virtual aortic anatomy with neural networks

In my final-year project I worked on generating synthetic aneurysmal aortas using Generative Adversarial Networks. The idea: realistically expand the database of aortic anatomies to train cardiovascular simulation models without compromising the privacy of real patients.

Part of this work was published at the 7th International Conference on Computational & Mathematical Biomedical Engineering (CMBE 2022, Milan).

2. Leukaemia cell detection with deep learning

My Master's thesis, "Detection and Classification of Blood Cancer Cells Using Deep Learning Techniques", applies YOLOv8-family models to blood smear images from Hospital 12 de Octubre to detect and classify Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) cells.

3. CSIC · Brain-computer interfaces and EEG

At the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) I work on EEG-based brain-computer interfaces (BCI). The project aims to decode the user's "mental intent" from EEG recordings during inner-speech tasks, using deep-learning models for time series.

Philosophy

How working with me looks

I combine clear explanations, original material and carefully chosen exercises. But above all, I try to help the student develop a way of thinking — knowing what to do, why to do it, and in what order.

We also work on study organisation, time management and exam confidence. Bachillerato and the IB are high-pressure stages; they deserve preparation that doesn't stop at the academic content.

University

If you're on a STEM degree

I teach first-year university students, which is exactly the same ground I teach on at Universidad Europea de Valencia. I know where people get stuck and what's really asked in a first-year exam, because I'm also on the other side, marking them.

I cover six subjects: Calculus and Analysis, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Numerical Methods, Programming and Computing, and Data Science. Also Physics I and II on request.

One-off support before a final exam, or ongoing follow-up through the semester, in person in Aldaia or online from anywhere in Spain.
